The Conservancy plays a vital role in protecting and maintaining the natural beauty of our village, creating an environment where our flora, fauna, and residents can flourish.
Much of this work is carried out by dedicated volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and resources to keep Blue Horizon Bay clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone.
The Conservancy organises regular beach clean-ups to keep our coastline clean and our beaches pristine. These clean-ups are only possible because of the dedication and hard work of local volunteers who care deeply about our environment.

Road markings play an important role in road safety. In Blue Horizon Bay, community members took the initiative to repaint faded markings, restoring visibility and improving safety for everyone using the roads.

Community support and membership contributions allow us to fund important projects and ongoing maintenance throughout the village. We currently employ a part-time worker to assist with clearing overgrown areas, cutting back vegetation, and carrying out essential maintenance tasks.
A special word of appreciation goes to Deon and his team, who contribute an enormous amount of voluntary work to the Conservancy. Apart from fuel costs, much of their time and labour is given freely in service of our community.
The next time you drive past them working along the roadside or in the greenbelts, please give them a wave or a word of thanks. Their efforts make a real difference to our village every single day.
Below you can see Deon and his team removing Rooi Kranz, an invasive plant species that poses a serious fire hazard in our area. We encourage residents to remove these plants from their own properties wherever possible to help reduce the fire risk throughout the village.
Volunteers have also been assisting with this important task!

Residents have also been working hard to create a beautiful and welcoming entrance to Blue Horizon Bay — another example of the pride people take in our village and the willingness to work together to make it even more special.

To support the ongoing running costs of the Conservancy, we regularly host fundraising events that bring the community together in fun and meaningful ways. Popular events include our Braai Broodjie Competition.

Generously sponsored by Cobus Kok, our annual Photo Competition celebrates the beauty of Blue Horizon Bay through the eyes of local photographers. Residents and visitors can view the entries, vote for their favourite photographs, and enjoy the local market at a festive community event. The top 12 photographs earn a place in the annual Blue Horizon Bay calendar.

Our Wine Tasting Evening was another successful fundraising event, bringing residents together for an enjoyable evening of good wine, good company, and community spirit, while raising valuable funds for the village.

Several residents have supported the Conservancy by participating in major sporting events and raising sponsorships from friends, family, and community members. Through their dedication and generosity, valuable funds were raised to support the ongoing work of the Blue Horizon Bay Conservancy.

Have an idea for a fundraising event or challenge? We'd love to hear from you. Some of our residents have raised funds by participating in sporting events and gathering sponsorships from friends, family, and fellow residents. Every initiative, large or small, helps us continue the work of caring for our beautiful village.
Your involvement makes a real difference. Membership contributions, participation in events, and community support allow these organisations to continue their vital work. Together, we keep Blue Horizon Bay clean, safe, and thriving.
Every contribution helps protect our natural heritage.

A place where the ocean, nature, and community still live in harmony. Stay informed and connected.
